What are Wedding Favours?
Wedding favours are small gifts given as a gesture of appreciation to guests from the bride and groom during a wedding reception.
The tradition of distributing wedding favours is a very old one. The first wedding favours, common among European aristocrats, were known as bonbonniere. Traditionally five almonds were presented in a favour box or wrapped in elegant fabric to represent fertility, longevity, wealth, health and happiness. Modern wedding favors have evolved to include a range of confectionary, candles, soaps and gifts, usually complement the theme or season of the event and are shared in many cultures worldwide.
